Heinz Benzawave – USB Microwave

by admin on Nov.29, 2009, under Gadgets

Heinz Snap Pots launches the world's smallest microwave

Eating cold food is never pleasant but that has become the reality that most people have to deal with. Heating up food takes some time, time which is better spent doing something productive or getting to the place you need to be. People who live very hectic lives often live on whatever they can find quick and easy. Eating isn’t always a top priority especially when you are busy at work and finding food is often difficult, let alone finding the time to cook or heat it.

Heinz, in a partnership with Frazer Designers have created a device that lets you cook your food while never leaving your computer. They have created the smallest microwave in the world that is powered through the USB port of your computer. The device measures 7.4 inches tall, 6.2 inches wide, and 5.9 inches deep and gets all the power it needs from your computer or laptop, it therefore has no other connectors available aside from USB cable. Heinz have decided to call the device, oddly enough, as the Benzawave and is custom fit to cook single servings of “Snap Pots”, which are from Heinz. Even if it was meant for Heinz products, you can still cook anything that can fit in the confined space of this microwave. You can heat pizzas, burgers, or even your coffee in it.

People at Heinz and Frazer Designs have said that the device uses radio frequencies to heat the food inside the module. Some detractors have already stated that radio waves are carcinogenic based on some tests with mobile phones. This may be true but since you are cooking food in the microwave and not your brain, this type of allegations might not last very long.

Heinz have not started the production on this device just yet but are basing their decision for the final go ahead on the feedback of people who might like to use this device. Depending on the lifestyle that you live, a device like this might or might not come in handy. Personally, I’ve been searching for a device like this that could heat or reheat my coffee without requiring me to even leave my desk.

TV has become a major recourse of addiction in this modern era. People used to have televisions in their houses for the sake of entertainment but the teenage group and other younger generation is getting influenced through it in a negative manner. TV addiction is as worse as any of the drug addiction. If you are getting over attached to the television and its channels, it can be dangerous and time consuming at the same time. Most of the time, kids that are at home and doing nothing get used to of watching TV and with the course of time they develop the routine of sitting in front of the television for the whole day that can be a concern if not taken proper care of. No one was really aware about the fact that TV addiction is growing rapidly. A recent research has proved that the number of people using drugs and the number of people who are addicted to the television programs is the same; this fact is quite astonishing for a normal person to confront. When kids are watching TV, they are in a world of their own. They probably are too lonely or too bored to watch the programs and cartoons. Most of the time, its just parents who never take care of their children in helping them out with their homework or play with them for a while. They are too busy with their schedules and what they do is that they just provide money to their children for the sake of the entertainment and food for their children but they completely forget about the other mental and emotional requirements of their children. Instead of providing the kids with latest technology, you should more focus on how to make them more active and athletic because it would keep them healthy and fit in the days to come. In order to make sure that your children stay away from TV addiction, you should make sure that you are taking good care of your children and you should also make sure that your are giving them suitable time so that they never feel lonely or neglected. Make sure that they get involved in the outdoor sports and stays from TV or videogames. This way you can assure that your child stays fit and also stay away from different addictions.
